Here are some links to other musicians, groups, and organizations that are making acoustic music happen:

  • Dave Firestine - the guy who makes the jams at the Carp Camp at Winfield some of the most fun in the universe; runs a couple of bands down in Tucson, all of which are big fun.

  • Colorado Roots Music Camp, the most fun you can have.  Period.

  • Gerald Jones - way cool guy down in Dallas who plays the daylights out of any fretted instrument

  • Stephen Bennett - one of the greatest fingerstyle guitarists in the world, and the greatest harp guitarist

  • The Black Rose Acoustic Society - an organization I helped found, it has changed the acoustic music landscape to some degree in the Pikes Peak region

  • Phil Volan - best acoustic guitarist in Colorado Springs, and one of the best in the state

  • Joe Uveges - singer-songwriter who writes great songs, makes you laugh, makes you think, and is never afraid to pull out something he's never played before (or that his sideman has never played before)

  • Marianne Danehy - my co-director of the Colorado Roots Music Camp, she's a fine teacher of the Suzuki Violin method, and also teaches fiddling.

  • folkjam.org - these guys are making folk music and folk music players accessible to the whole world.

  • Palmer Divide - my old band buddies plus Jody Adams; these guys make great original bluegrass

  • The Carp Camp - the place where Dave Firestine (see above) holds court, and the cookingest tune playing happens.

  • Ceol Céilí - your best choice in Colorado Springs if you need a jumpin' Celtic band

  • Church of the Good Shepherd (Episcopal) - the church where I'm the music director
